The Desert / Pink Edit

Pink appears regularly in the desert. It’s one of our quiet constants, shaped by daily light at dawn and sunset, and therefore a frequent (and welcome) pop on our otherwise neutral color palette. Many of our pinks are, by nature, fleeting: in the sky at first and last light, the technicolor spring blooms on cacti, and the slow fade of painted surfaces left to the elements.

This Field Note organizes some favorite travel imagery by color: a mix of outtakes, hero frames, GIFs, and small, in-between moments from desert life where pink plays a part, be it main or secondary character. Drawn mostly from Joshua Tree, with a handful of images from Taos, Big Bend, and beyond.
